Hi, I’m Muhammad Nurfaisal 👋

I’m an Infrastructure & System Engineer based in Bogor, Indonesia, and this site is basically my digital workshop — a place where I write about what I’m learning, building, and breaking (usually followed by fixing).

My path into infrastructure started at Wikrama Vocational School, where I majored in Computer and Network Engineering. Since then I’ve spent nearly four years keeping enterprise systems alive — from provisioning Linux servers and wrangling Docker environments early in my career, to now supporting large-scale HPE Cloudera infrastructure, where I help keep 112+ production servers healthy, monitored, and running smoothly. There’s a specific kind of satisfaction in catching a failing disk or a flaky NIC before it becomes an outage, and that’s a big part of why I do this work.

Outside my day job, I’m currently studying Information Systems at Universitas Terbuka — mostly to sharpen the theory behind the systems thinking I already use daily, and to push myself further toward cloud and DevOps practices.

What I Do

At PT. Bringin Inti Teknologi (BIT), I work on Managed Services & Operations for HPE Cloudera environments — monitoring and maintaining HPE servers via OneView and iLO, administering RHEL, troubleshooting hardware and network issues, and generating capacity reports that keep infrastructure planning grounded in real data. Before this role, I spent a year on internal projects touching a broader stack: Ubuntu server provisioning, Docker, OpenVPN, and monitoring across Grafana, Zabbix, and Wazuh — plus some early exposure to AWS and GCP.

Things I’ve Built

This site itself is one of them — built with Hugo and deployed on Netlify, and honestly a bit of a playground for me to learn deployment workflows, theming, and site performance outside of enterprise constraints.

I also built Nusakabar, a Hugo-based news site covering Kuliner, Lifestyle, and Teknologi. It started as a way to practice frontend layout work and content structuring — things that don’t come up much in server rooms, which is exactly why I enjoy it.

Why I Blog

I write here mostly for two people: future-me, who will inevitably forget how I solved a problem six months from now, and anyone else who runs into the same issue and finds this page useful. If a post here saves you an hour of troubleshooting, that’s the whole point.
